The COMPUTATIONAL DESIGN INITIATIVE ISTANBUL group presents an
exhibition "The Smooth and the Striated Geometry and Landscape as
Architectural Knowledge" of video art based on the digital designs of a
group of architects and digital artists focused on computational design in
Turkey including Alper Derinboğaz, Refik Anadol, Gökhan Karakuş, Nilufer
Kozikoğlu, Peter J. Lu and Salih Küçüktuna. These works explore abstraction
and geometry in the spatiality of digital architecture. The exhibition curated
by Gökhan Karakuş also includes Anadolu Videograf a video artwork by Mustafa
Sakarya that analyses the aesthetics of geometry and landscape that have
occurred in Turkey in the late 1980s. The exhibition includes editioned digital
artworks by architects for sale for the first time in Turkey.
